Burger King Xbox Games Boost Burger Sales Nearly 10%

Burger_king_xbox Burger King's making a killing off its Xbox games.

After selling over 3 million video games based on its creepy King and Subservient Chicken characters, Burger King is reporting that the advergame initiative has boosted revenues nearly 10%.

According to company stats cited by the South Florida Sun-Sentinel, total revenues in the second quarter climbed 9% to $599 million, from $512 million. Profit jumped 41% to $38 million. Company officials say strong sales of value meals and giveaways of the video games contributed to the results.

Why'd this work? For starters, it gives Burger King an infusion of brand cool. Kids love Xbox, and, from what I've heard, the BK games are actually pretty fun.

An interesting new way to connect with Generation Wow.
