Interview: Live Events In A Transmedia Age

As this weekend's MTV Video Music Awards gets ready to rewrite the rules of live events in a transmedia age, I got to thinking about a recent conversation I had with longtime TV producer Vicki Lynn, president of Satellite Events.

Lynn, who has served as producer for a multitude of television events, including "Live Aid," "The Hundredth Anniversary of the Eiffel Tower," and "Guardians of the Millennium," founded the integrated media events firm, and is preparing to lead it through an ambitious, multi-media cause marketing initiative that might even put the VMAs to shame for sheer scope.

In this short interview, hear Lynn's take on event and cause marketing in an age when television by itself is no longer enough, and when any successful initiative must span many different platforms if you hope to engage consumers - much less make a difference in their lives.
